New Art Exhibition at our EL SALON!

My photos really do no justice to these beautiful pieces, when you are around our cafe, please stop by EL SALON to admire these pieces (for sale) – different artists – different techniques.

BIOS:
Isabella Marin paints in watercolour and acrylic. She is also a printmaker, creating works in monoprint, lino-cut and etchings. Isabella has participated in several juried shows and art festivals. A loose impressionistic style is what she aims for in her paintings. She is inspired by nature and her photography. Her influences include John Singer Sargeant, Alvaro Castagnet, and Joseph Zbukvic. She has taken classes at several local art studios and also studied at Sheridan College in fine arts and continues to take classes at Haliburton School of the Arts.

T Orton is a retired architect and art teacher. She has taught art at International Schools including schools in Ethiopia, Sudan and China. T Orton has always loved batiks and began to create her own in 2009 by applying wax and dyes on a variety of fabrics. She has owned and operated an art gallery and has participated in many juried shows and festivals, winning an award for her Batik painting entitled Bamboo and Moon. She is also a long time member of the Eden Mills Art Studio Tours

Renee Sandelowsky is an eclectic artist who pursues various forms of art, including printmaking, ink, pencil and charcoal drawing, watercolour, acrylic and oil, sculpture and mixed media. Renee has won several awards for her linoleum prints and has done cartoon stories for commission. She has shown her work at the John B. Aird Gallery in Toronto, the Eden MIlls Art Festival, the Lakeshore Arts Annual Juried Art Show in Toronto, Neilson Park Creative Centre in Etobicoke and the Sovereign House in Oakville. She has taken many classes throughout her life, including those at Open Studio in Toronto and Toronto School of Art. Renee has also studied at Saddleback College and Cal State Long Beach in California and Sheridan College in Oakville. Renee loves graphic novels and German Expressionist art.

Nadia von Windheim loves glass for the many colours and textures this medium offers. She creates free-form decorative pieces, adding wire and beads. Wire is intriguing because it can be thick, fine, shiny, dull, coloured. She can bend it , bead it , bundle and scrunch it to create sculptures and jewellery. The diverse materials themselves become Nadia’s inspiration and motivation. They call out to her, forge an image in her mind, which her hands then forge into a tangible entity.
